Sligo’s DVAS dealt with 220 women last year The Domestic Violence Advocacy Service, (DVAS) which covers Sligo, Leitrim and West Cavan is hoping to have a badly-needed refuge site in the town shortly. There is still no refuge for women in the region even though over 220 women came looking for help to the service last year, and the numbers are expected to rise.
