WEST UNION — Matthew Bratten wasn’t happy with his Drake Relays performance Friday morning in Des Moines. Oelwein’s senior throw took it out on his discus later that afternoon. Buoyed by Bratten’s new school record toss, a long jump personal-record and several other top marks, the Huskies won the North Fayette Valley Invitational with 137 points, 25 better than South Winneshiek. It was Oelwein’s second win at NFV this season; the Huskies won the Early Bird Invite by 58 points.
