Famous Last Words (out Feb. 25) is about a woman who discovers her husband is caught up in a hostage situation — except he isn’t a hostage. He’s the gunman.

Undeniably, this world is not the veritable utopia we would all (or most) would like it to be. Without doubt, there are subtle (as well as seismically major) forms of corruption in even the seemingly respectable and incorruptible echelons of society. This includes our ‘by the book’ (normally) police force.

Through October I found myself in a thriller mood – yes, I’m VERY behind on my reviews. It’s a genre I do enjoy but often find myself disappointed. I’ve said before that it’s a genre that I tend to hold to a higher standard, I don’t want a twist that’s predictable, but I also don’t want a twist that is so left field that it’s completely stupid. Despite being really fussy, I still hold faith that I’ll end a thriller satisfied.

Gillian McAllister really hit it big with her last novel, the global bestseller and Reese’s Book Club pick WRONG PLACE WRONG TIME. So the pressure is on to recreate this literary magic with her next release, JUST ANOTHER MISSING PERSON. I am happy to report that she makes a more than valiant effort to duplicate that success with a domestic thriller that will have your head spinning. McAllister already has a reputation for huge plot twists, and her latest is no exception.
