It's official — June gloom is here. It may look extra dreary today thanks to a late season storm moving into Southern California from the northwest. The National Weather Service says there's a small chance of thunderstorms, mainly west of the mountains and in the desert in the afternoon into the evening.

Buckle in — the hottest day of the week is here. We're looking at sunny skies today with warmer temperatures all around Southern California. The National Weather Service has issued a heat advisory for the San Fernando and Santa Clarita valleys where temperatures will reach up to 100 degrees. High temperatures are expected to last until 8 p.m.Elsewhere, expect patchy morning clouds and fog with highs of 73 to 80 degrees at L.A. County beaches and 85 to 90 degrees more inland.

We're in for another short heat wave today and Friday. Morning low clouds and patchy fog will cover the coast this morning, but by the afternoon it will be sunny. Expect temperatures from 70 to 75 degrees at L.A. County beaches and 82 to 87 degrees more inland. L.A. County valleys will see temperatures from 80 to 89 degrees.. Orange County will be cloudy this morning followed by a partly sunny afternoon. Temperatures will range from 69 to 75 degrees at the beaches and 74 to 79 degrees inland.

Get used to the warm weather — it's going to stick around all week. Expect temperatures from 66 to 71 degrees at L.A. County beaches and from 77 to 82 degrees more inland. L.A. County valleys will see temperatures from 73 to 83 degrees with partly cloudy skies all afternoon. Orange County will be mostly cloudy with morning fog. Temperatures will be around 61 degrees at the beaches and from 72 to 77 degrees inland.
