The Warren Consolidated Schools Board has a new voice. Sharon Nemeth, a Sterling Heights resident for more than 25 years, will be taking a seat left vacant by Brian White, who resigned his post effective April 15. Her first board meeting is May 21. “I look forward to collaborating with my fellow board members, the superintendent, students, staff, and the community to ensure everyone has access to a quality, safe education,” Nemeth said, in a news release.

Motorists in Michigan preparing to travel during Memorial Day Weekend are hoping gas prices continue to decrease. This weekend motorists were paying an average of $3.06 per gallon, which was 6 cents less than this time last month. “Michigan drivers are seeing lower prices at the pump this week,” said Adrienne Woodland, spokesperson, AAA-The Auto Club Group in Monday’s report.
