The Boston Red Sox and Minnesota Twins squared off at Fenway Park on Saturday, but the regular-season matchup meant much more to four-year veteran Kody Clemens and his father, “Rocket” Roger Clemens. Clemens, a 28-year-old infielder/outfielder who’s logged stops with the Detroit Tigers and the Philadelphia Phillies, had never played at Fenway Park — his father’s home territory across 13 seasons — until Saturday.

The Boston Red Sox have counted on rookie pitcher Hunter Dobbins, perhaps more than the 25-year-old anticipated this early into the 2025 season. The Eastern Conference semifinals haven’t even begun yet, and rumors are pouring, insinuating the Boston Celtics won’t return with all of their premier cast, regardless of whether or not they capture banner 19. That’s abrupt, especially for a star-filled core that was first assembled just two offseasons ago and hoisted a Larry O’Brien Trophy less than a year ago. But it’s also the cost of testing the limits of a flooding payroll as a second-apron franchise.

The Boston Celtics reaped the benefit of eliminating the Orlando Magic in five games, and recovered from their first-round series victory while also awaiting the discovery of their Eastern Conference semifinals opponent. Meanwhile, at Little Caesars Arena, the New York Knicks and Detroit Pistons battled it out for a date against the reigning champs in Round 2. It was everything viewers expected after Detroit forced New York into a Game 6 and dug into its 3-1 series lead.
