    1. IntroductionMinimally invasive surgical (MIS) approaches have significantly improved thoracic surgical practice. Backed by randomized evidence, they now represent the gold-standard surgical approach in early-stage lung cancer treatment [1,2]. Notwithstanding the important advantages conferred by MIS and technical and technological improvements, the incidence of complications is still high (24–41%), with a major complication rate of 1.5% [3].
