Diosgenin in Urochloa spp. from the Orinoco Region in Colombia was quantified at 14 and 28 days at different seasons. In general, the lowest diosgenin content was found in U. dictyoneura and U. humidicola, although under particular circumstances (in alluvial valley in June at 28 days) the latter could produce high levels (732 μg/g).
