Concert promoter MCD Productions is on course for the second busiest year in its history, according to its managing director Denis Desmond. It will sell around 2.5 million tickets in 2025, he saidMr Desmond said that business “is very solid” and that the gross ticket sales would be between €212 million to €225 million, based on average prices of €85 to €90 per ticket.

New accounts show that Anput Ltd recorded the average weekly post tax profits of €10,125 from the crematorium located near Illaunmanagh cemetery in Shannon in the twelve months to the end of June last. The €526,543 post tax profit for last year followed post tax profits of €499,700 in 2023 and €394,943 in 2022.

Bus Eireann has told the Labour Court that it has made a loss of €4.2m last year "and was projecting similar losses for 2025". That is according to the Labour Court which has recommended a combined pay increase of 6.75% over a two year period to the end of December 2026, along with a pay voucher of €500, for Bus Eireann's 3,200 workers.

The pay row came before the Labour Court after the 3,200 workers represented by the NBRU, Siptu, Unite, TSSA and Connect rejected pay proposals put forward by the Workplace Relations Commission by 64pc to 36pc.
