Psychological inoculation—an intervention intended to help people identify manipulation techniques—is being adopted at scale around the globe. Yet the efficacy of this approach for increasing belief accuracy remains unclear, as prior work uses synthetic materials that do not contain claims of truth.

Aaron Rodgers, the New York Jets quarterback recently implied that comedian Jimmy Kimmel had a nefarious connection with the late accused pedophile and sex-trafficker Jeffrey Epstein, would no longer be appearing on ESPN's “The Pat McAfee Show” show this NFL season, its host said Wednesday. “‘Aaron Rodgers Tuesday,’ season 4 is done,” McAfee said. “There are going to be a lot of people happy with that, myself included to be honest.” But, then, Rodgers was right back on McAfee's show the next day.

AbstractThe spread of misinformation online is a global problem that requires global solutions. To that end, we conducted an experiment in 16 countries across 6 continents (N = 34,286; 676,605 observations) to investigate predictors of susceptibility to misinformation about COVID-19, and interventions to combat the spread of this misinformation.
