    HAJIN: The Municipal Committee Hajin on Saturday issued a formal order imposing a complete ban on the use of animal-pulled carts in congested areas falling under its jurisdiction. The directive, issued by the Executive Officer MC Hajin, comes in compliance with the recommendations made during the 8th UT Level Implementation and Monitoring Committee meeting. The ban has also been endorsed by the Director, Urban Local Bodies Kashmir, under order No. DULB/G/7593575/2025 dated 10-06-2025.

    Bandipora: Authorities have suspended vehicular movement on the Bandipora-Gurez road as a precautionary measure following continuous snowfall and poor visibility at Razdan Top. Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) Gurez said on Friday that traffic on the vital road link shall remain suspended until further orders, keeping in view the safety of commuters. “The decision has been taken as a precautionary measure due to the prevailing weather conditions,” the SDM stated.

    HAJIN: A devastating fire incident on Sunday afternoon reduced two residential houses and a bakery manufacturing unit to ashes in Hajin town of north Kashmir’s Bandipora district. Officials said the fire broke out on the first floor of a bakery unit owned by Mohammad Altaf, son of Mohammad Maqbool, and quickly spread to the nearby residential houses due to its intensity. The bakery was reportedly in full operation, preparing stocks ahead of the upcoming Eid festival.
