Disney has removed a planned Star Wars film from its 2026 lineup. The newest installment in the Ice Age franchise will take its place. Simon Kinberg has signed an expansive deal with Disney to write and produce a new Star Wars feature trilogy. Lucasfilm President Kathleen Kennedy is set to produce the upcoming films. Although details about the trilogy have not been released, sources say it will not be a direct continuation of the Skywalker saga.

Marvel has released a new trailer for Captain America: Brave New World, the latest addition to the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The film is scheduled for release on Feb. 14, 2025. The newest installment in Phase 5 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe features Sam Wilson (Anthony Mackie) taking on the role of Captain America following Steve Rogers’ (Chris Evans) departure. The latest trailer arrives four months after Marvel released an official teaser for the film.

Jonathan Haze, who starred as Seymour Krelborn in the original The Little Shop of Horrors, has died at 95. His daughter Rebecca Haze reported that the actor died on Saturday in his Los Angeles home. Haze worked with filmmaker Roger Corman on two dozen films, including Little Shop of Horrors. He also starred in films such as The Fast and the Furious, Monster From the Ocean Floor, and The St. Valentine’s Day Massacre. He served as an assistant director on Corman’s The Born Losers in 1967.

A sequel for 2019’s Ready or Not is in the works, with Samara Weaving and Radio Silence returning to the project. The sequel was announced when Searchlight hosted a screening of the original film at the El Capitan Theatre in Hollywood. Radio Silence, the filmmaking collective comprised of Matt Bettinelli-Olpin, Tyler Gillett and Chad Villella, are reuniting to create Ready or Not 2 for Searchlight Pictures. Weaving will be reprising her original role.

Journalist Jeff Sneider reports that Sam Raimi has “all-but closed a deal” to direct the next film. After nearly two months of filming, production on Sony Pictures’ Until Dawn movie has officially been completed. Director David F. Sandberg confirmed the wrap on Instagram by posting a photo of a clapboard in front of a bloody mirror. “We made it until dawn! That’s a wrap on #UntilDawnMovie,” the caption reads.
