The new snack line builds on the success of Cauldron Middle Eastern Falafels and is a source of protein, high in fibre and low in saturated fat. The bites (rsp: £2.50/160g) are made from butternut squash, chickpeas, red pepper, red onion, a touch of mozzarella, and a unique blend of herbs and spices.

Princes has announced a commitment to reduce its absolute Scope 1, 2 and 3 energy and industry greenhouse gas emissions by 50.4% by 2032. This target will be using 2022 as its baseline and is a pivotal component of the company’s broader objective to achieve net zero emissions by 2050, a goal validated by the Science Based Targets initiative. Princes also aims to transition to 100% renewable energy by 2030.

Vivera has extended its Protein Bites range with a Thai SKU launching into Sainsbury’s on 7 May. It joins Tex Mex and Garden Greens Protein Bites, which launched for Veganuary. The Thai bites (rsp: £2.85/180g) are made of vegetables including white cabbage, carrot, onions and edamame beans with a blend of herbs and spices to create the Asian flavour, including coriander, lemongrass and lemon leaf.

Flora has announced the successful rollout of its improved Flora Plant recipe. The reformulation, which like its previous iteration has only seven ingredients, has enhanced performance across cooking, baking and spreading, according to the brand. It is also more spreadable straight from the fridge, has better heat control and more consistent results when baking, the brand added. The range is available in salted block, unsalted block and spreadable tub format.

Alt-seafood manufacturer Happiee has launched easy-cook lion’s mane mushroom chunks. The new Original and Teriyaki Lion’s Mane pieces (rsp: £4/180g) are designed to offer a “convenient, ready-to-cook option, already prepared and marinated”. The brand said that unlike fresh lion’s mane which can be tricky to cook and naturally bitter, it offers a consistent flavour. The pieces contain 4.1g of protein per 100g, 2.8g of fibre and are low in sugar.
