The owners of this 1930s brickwalled house in Upstate New York did not feel a special connection to the space when they purchased it three years ago. Its interiors had recent updates that didn’t work for them. Yet it was on a beautiful piece of land in the desirable Bedford Hills area—close to their five adult children, who had all moved to New York City. The Texas-based couple envisioned this second home as a place where the whole family could spend holidays and summers together.
