The White House accused NPR and PBS of producing “woke propaganda” as the Trump administration reportedly plans to slash almost all federal funding for public broadcasting. The New York Times reported that the White House intends to ask Congress to cut more than $1 billion earmarked for the Corporation for Public Broadcasting, the publicly funded nonprofit that helps underwrite public media organizations.

On March 25, Rumeysa Ozturk, a Turkish national working on her Ph.D., was detained on a Massachusetts street by masked Immigration and Customs Enforcement officers after her visa was abruptly revoked. The 30-year-old was moved to an ICE detention center in Basile, Louisiana.
