Views: 6 It’s been a year since Germany legalized marijuana, which was a big deal for the EU. It’s the third country to do so behind Malta and Luxembourg, but by far the biggest. The way they enacted the legalization was a bit strange: instead of being able to buy weed in a store, you had to be a part of a social club, and the approval of such clubs is slow. So, a year in, it’s worth checking in and seeing where Germany is at with it’s legal journey.

Views: 7 We’ve done a similar story a few months ago, but with the ever changing nature of the administration and the vagueness in which the topic is discussed, it’s worth checking back in on. So does cannabis have any big shot this year? Simple answer seems to be no. Trump doesn’t really like talking about marijuana unless he needs to score some young voter cred, and at this point he’s pretty good on the cred.

Views: 6 Virginia is in a bit of a bind. After legalizing marijuana in 2021, Governor Glenn Youngkin came to power and brought his very anti-marijuana stance along with him. The initial bill only legalized possession of marijuana. It required additional legislation to set up a market in the state, and that’s where it’s been stuck ever since. A very similar bill was taken to Youngkin last year, which he also vetoed at the time.

Views: 4 It’s probably not a great look to take CBD through intravenous infusion, but turns out it’s also illegal. Pico IV is a company in California that sells CBD through injection. It’s supposed to help with chronic pain, Crohn’s disease, and arthritis. The FDA sent the company a letter saying that by marketing CBD as a dietary supplement and then injecting it is not okay considering a dietary supplement is supposed to be ingested.

Views: 6 It was Pi Day yesterday, and a pizza shop in Chicago partnered with a dispensary to celebrate in the coolest way possible: they made a gigantic weed pizza. Paulie Gee’s and Ivy Hall (which is Chicago’s first social equity dispensary) made the pizza together. It was 64-by 32 inches and was served up starting at noon yesterday. This wasn’t really a category that Ripley’s had on its radar before the creation of this pizza, so I guess the precedent starts now.

Views: 6 Some recent court documents were released that make an argument for the DEA, the department that was supposed to be arguing for a rescheduling of marijuana from Schedule I to III, being against the move from the start. On February 17th, a group of doctors who were not allowed into rescheduling process, created a court filing that went into detail all of the rigged crooks and crannies along the way, in particular with the selection of doctors to speak during the hearings.
