New Garages ChristenedThe three new garages built at Imola as part of the circuit’s commitment to the FIA WEC are in use this weekend by the three-car Proton Competition team. Whilst the eventual total full-season WEC entry for 2025 is 36 cars, Imola is now able to accommodate a total WEC grid of 40, with the total entry likely to expand in 2026 with the arrival of Genesis, and further in 2027 with the planned programmes in Hypercar for both Ford and McLaren.

Century Motorsport has announced a special GT3 guest entry for the upcoming British GT Silverstone 500 on 26-27 April. Silver-Am class duo Will Moore and series debutant Jon Kearney will co-pilot the BMW M4 GT3 Evo for the three-hour race. The team downsized their British GT programme to two BMW M4 GT4 Evos for this year’s full season but have made an exception for the second round of the 2025 schedule with the GT3 addition.

vdS Panis Racing have confirmed that Franck Perera will complete its line-up for the 2025 24 Hours of Le Mans in the team’s #48 LMP2 ORECA 07 alongside full season ELMS drivers Oliver Gray and Esteban Masson. The team finished in second place in LMP2, (3rd overall) at the ELMS season-opening 4 Hours of Barcelona earlier this month with Alpine factory driver Charles Milesi completing the crew.

Bob Garretson passed away last weekend at the age of 92 and leaves behind a legacy of important race and Championship wins in a transitional period of the sport. Born in Sunnyville, California, in what is today known as Silicon Valley he did some drag racing in his formative years, and, after a spell in the US Navy, studied engineering at the University of California, Berkeley, where he paid for tuition by rebuilding and tuning V8 engines.
