The Guardian • Current Issue Sunshine Coast at the Big Pineapple The Sunshine Coast Queensland Branch of the Communist Party of Australia held its Annual General Meeting on Saturday 30 November. It has been a great year for the two-year-old branch. We have attended numerous rallies and protests throughout the year: Pro-Palestine, Abortion Rights, LGBTQ+ and anti-TERF rallies, and Indigenous Rights.

The Guardian • Current Issue On Cuba is a great introduction to modern Cuba and the problems it currently faces. Having taught Cuban history at university level, I recommend it highly for those new to Cuba, and for those who keep in touch with current events. Chomsky and Prashad began this book with a taped conversation, which they then edited.

Hundreds have been killed and the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs said Aleppo’s two key public hospitals were full of patients.

Its aim was to meet the Paris Agreement goal of limiting global temperature rise to 1.5 C°, by building consensus on climate finance, transparency and supporting the Less Developed Countries (LDCs) in their transition from fossil fuels.

Photo: COSCO Shipping – China China’s president Xi Jinping, recently attended the inauguration of the US$3.5 billion port of Chancay, 75 km north of Lima, with Peruvian president Dina Boluarte. The project is 60 per cent owned by the China Ocean Shipping Group (Cosco) and 40 per cent owned by Peruvian miner Volcan, a subsidiary of Glencore. The port will be a key hub connecting South America with Asian ports.
