Most cars turn heads purely on looks. Our latest attention-grabber was the Volkswagen Touareg R, which attracted consideration from astute followers. You would be forgiven for thinking it was “just” another large SUV. But at least one bloke at the service station, along with a mother and daughter pairing at the gym, knew it was more than the average Vee Dub family hauler. “Do you even bother plugging it in?” the learned servo onlooker asked.

For Mazda, it seems the adage “you can’t get enough of a good thing” is the new mantra alongside “zoom-zoom”. Take a look at the current SUV line-up and you’d be forgiven for seeing double – if not quadruple. Sitting in the arrivals lounge are the CX-60, CX-70, CX-80 (see the video above) and CX-90. Logic would tell you the CX-60 is the medium SUV and then the next three models become incrementally larger.
