    ESPN has settled on a ranking for Tennessee Basketball for the 2025-26 season — at least for now. The Vols dropped three spots to No. 23, back to their initial ranking, in ESPN’s Way-Too-Early Top 25, updated after the NBA Draft withdrawal deadline. Tennessee started at No. 23 in the first version of the rankings and moved up as high as No. 16 after adding five-star small forward Nate Ament. The Vols dropped back to No. 20 in the third edition of the rankings, then back to No. 23 earlier this week.

The Vols beat Wake Forest 10-5 to clinch a spot in the NCAA Tournament Super Regionals for a fifth straight year, a mark that is unmatched in college baseball. Tennessee is the only program in the country to reach five straight Super Regionals, with the run dating back to 2021. Not only that, no other school has a streak longer than two seasons.
