Four-star Tennessee Football wide receiver commitment Tyreek King has shut down his recruitment and will not take visits to other schools, according to On3’s Hayes Fawcett. King, from Knoxville’s Catholic High School, has been committed to the Vols since October 31. King is ranked 76 overall in the On3 Ratings. He’s the No. 10 wide receiver in the class and the No. 4 prospect in the state of Tennessee. “I’ve been knowing where home was from the beginning,” King said on social media.

Tennessee Football’s season-opener against Syracuse in Atlanta on August 30 will be a Noon Eastern Time start and will be aired on ABC, according to a report from The Action Network’s Brett McMurphy. It will be part of a tripleheader that also includes Alabama at Florida State at 3:30 p.m. ET and LSU at Clemson at 7:30 p.m. ET. Tennessee and Syracuse will play at Mercedes Benz Stadium in Atlanta, as part of the Aflac Kickoff Game.

ESPN updated its NBA mock draft after the league held its draft lottery Tuesday night. Not much changed for Chaz Lanier, who is now projected to go at No. 42 overall to the Sacramento Kings in the second round. Before the lottery, ESPN has Lanier going No. 41 overall to the Golden State Warriors. ESPN on March 25 ranked Lanier No. 38 on its list of the top 100 NBA Draft prospects.

Tennessee Basketball on Tuesday morning announced the hiring of Steve McClain as an assistant coach. McClain, a 43-year coaching veteran, spent the last three seasons as an assistant coach at Texas under former Longhorns head coach Rodney Terry. “I want to thank Coach Barnes for the opportunity to join such a fantastic basketball program,” McClain said in a press release announcing the hiring.

Ari Wasserman has Tennessee Football ranked No. 24 in On3’s Way-Too-Early Top 25 for the 2025 season, which he updated following the spring transfer portal window. Tennessee made the most headlines during the spring window, after its public breakup with quarterback Nico Iamaleava. The Vols replaced Iamaleava with Joey Aguilar, who had transferred from Appalachian State to UCLA in December. Aguilar left UCLA after Iamaleava committed to the Bruins.
