MOUNT VERNON - Around 300 protestors gathered at Mount Vernon's Public Square on Saturday to participate in the national "No Kings" Day event. Among the signs on Public Square included one featuring at caricature of President Donald Trump as a clown. Others stated that billionaires should be taxed to balance the national budget. A few Trump supporters circled Public Square, while the majority of attendees at the rally were anti-Trump demonstrators. Appreciate this reporting?

MOUNT VERNON - Sixteen common pleas sentences were delivered in Knox County Common Pleas Court in May. Wayne R. Weaver, of Brinkhaven, was sentenced to one year of monitored time on a cruelty to a companion animal conviction. Weaver was also ordered to pay $142.54 in restitution to the Knox County Animal Shelter within six months, among other orders. Raymond Weaver, of Danville, was sentenced to one year of monitored time on a cruelty to a companion animal conviction.
