The SERUN Foundation, founded by media professional and activist O’Neil Hesson, is committed to revitalizing and empowering marginalized communities in urban settings through environmental action and civic engagement. Originally inspired by Hesson’s increasing involvement in politics during the 2020 election cycle, the foundation grew from a desire to address issues that directly impact communities of color, especially within Dallas’ District 7.

Cathy Taylor started Journey4ward in 2013 following the terrible death of her son from gun violence. Taylor founded her group in an attempt to assist herself and others in overcoming the trauma of losing loved ones to violence because she was having trouble finding enough resources and assistance. A community-driven project that began as a small group of neighborhood moms grew to fill the gaps in trauma-informed therapy and offer complete support services to victims of violent crimes.

The Resile One Foundation is a 501c3 not-for-profit organization based in the Dallas/Fort Worth area (est. 2022). Their mission is to empower, encourage and provide relief to middle class families who are facing medical hardship. I’m excited that Yolanda Tyler decided to sit down and speak with me. The Gallery at Bowie House, within Bowie House Auberge Resorts Collection, features a curated art collection blending Texas’s western charm with modern sophistication. Owner Jo Ellard’s 20-year collection enriches the hotel’s spaces, reflecting Fort Worth’s cultural heritage. The hotel also hosts exhibitions, live performances, and Artist Talks.
