Revealing the fundamental characteristics which underpin the optical and electronic response of material systems with micro- and nanoscale geometry is essential for the development of future communication and computing technologies. Terahertz (THz) spectroscopy has become a powerful approach for noncontact material characterization, providing direct access to collective charge, spin and lattice excitations as well as light-induced dynamics over ultrafast time scales.
