I'm convinced this sentiment comes down to camera quality if you walked through NYC today with a late 90s digicam, you'd watch the tape and think, "wow, it looks like the 90s" If you walked through NYC in the late 90s recording with an iPhone 12, it would look modern.

I will spend the day drafting an article about what I learned going offline for a week this summer. The thesis: We are afraid of being offline because we have become information hoarders (or something like that).
