Paul urged the believers in Philippi to embrace a spirit of contentment. And we should point out that Paul wasn’t a do-as-I-say-and-not-as-I-do type of guy. He talked the talk and walked the walk when it came to being content. Paul had more opportunities to be discontent than most people ever will. “Are they ministers of Christ?—I speak as a fool—I am more: in labors more abundant, in stripes above measure, in prisons more frequently, in deaths often.

For many people, prayer is a last resort. You might hear them say, “Well, we’ve tried everything else we can think of. Now the only thing left to do is pray.” What? Prayer is the first thing you should do. Look again at the apostle Paul’s words in Philippians 4:6: “Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. By , Op-ed contributor I don't know what kind of shape your marriage is in as you read these words. Maybe it’s great. Strong and vibrant. I hope so. But that doesn’t mean it couldn’t be even stronger. Then again, maybe your marriage looks strong and happy on the outside, when in reality it is hanging by a thread. Or maybe you aren’t married at all but would like to be someday. What I want to say to you is that God can not only build a lasting marriage from the ground up, but He can restore marriages.

We kicked things off speaking to Christian leaders from all over Europe at the European Congress on Evangelism, a powerful vision from @Franklin_Graham and backed by the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association. But let me tell you, today https://t.co/LLWOm2fh2O

“We need to develop a conditioned reflex and get into the habit of turning to God when we feel worried. When trouble comes our way, and it will, our first inclination—our natural reflex, if you will—is to worry. We need to teach ourselves to pray instead..." Continue to read https://t.co/iOTn0BZVyE

So often today we hear about the importance of self-image, self-love, self-worth, and self-esteem. We even hear it proclaimed from our pulpits: “Doesn’t Jesus say in Mark 12:31, ‘Love your neighbor as yourself’? First, you must love yourself before you can love your neighbor.” https://t.co/QnVqtuxych
