CLEMSON — Former Clemson City Councilman Jim Oswald, who died last week at 62, is being remembered by council members with whom he served as well as the former city administrator and current city mayor for his technical savvy, problem solving skills and ability to work with others. “Everyone on council brings a little bit of a different perspective to items that come up and Jim always had the ability to come up with something nobody else had thought of,” former Mayor J.C. Cook said.

SENECA — Whether through years of service with the United Way of Oconee County — including 16 years as chief professional officer — or the community on Walhalla City Council, a Guardian Ad Litem board member and Juvenile Court judge, David McCutcheon always sought to help others. McCutcheon passed away on Oct. 28 at age 76.

CLEMSON – Smith Juback recently earned his mechanical engineering degree from Clemson University with plans to further his education for what he hopes is an eventual career in the aerospace industry. Juback, the nephew of retired longtime Oconee County educator John Kelley, received an up-close look at the industry as one of 17 student NASA Micro-g Neutral Buoyancy Experimental Design Teams comprised of 13 U.S. colleges.
