POWDER SPRINGS – The second chance was all the Campbell boys soccer team needed. A year after making a surprise run to the Class AAAAAAA state finals and finishing as runner-up, Campbell broke through and won its first state title in program history with a 1-0 victory over Grayson in the Class AAAAAA championship game at McEachern’s Cantrell Stadium on Thursday.

POWDER SPRINGS -- Two years after falling just short of a state title, the Walton girls soccer team finally claimed the ultimate prize with a 1-0 (4-2 in penalty kicks) victory in the Class AAAAAA championship game at McEachern's Cantrell Stadium on Thursday. A couple of big saves by Graycen Ehlen in the penalty kick shootout made the difference for the Raiders, which won the program's second state title and first since 1993.

CARROLLTON –The Etowah girls came away with a top-ten finish, placing seventh in the Class AAAAAA girls’ team standings, on the final day of the Class AAAAAA/A-3A Private state track and field championships on Saturday. Etowah was boosted by a runner-up finish in the 400-meter relay, with the quartet of Aubrey McBeath, Ewomazino Edet, Gabbi Crane and Kimora Stevenson finishing with a time of 46.67 to place behind champion Heritage (46.24).

CARROLLTON – Marietta claimed the Class AAAAAA girls track and field title to win their first state crown in seven years on the final day of the Class AAAAAA championship on Saturday. The Blue Devils scored 70 points to beat out runner-up Buford (58) as well as third-place finisher and Cobb County rival Harrison (45) to claim the top spot and secure a state title for the first time since 2018.
