ATHENS - It took Megan Camden only about 10 minutes to shed the goat label in the top of the 11th and become the GOAT in the bottom of the inning. She will not be remembered as the girl who threw to the wrong base to cost Carrollton Hawks softball a shot at its greatest season. "I hope not," Camden said with a smile. "Oh God, I panicked."But then she delivered a clutch hit to become the girl who saved the Hawks' season.

HARDIN - It was three years ago when five freshmen became immediate starters for a Carrollton Hawks softball program that had not won a sectional in 20 years. It would not halt the sectional drought, but that 2022 team did deliver Carrollton's first regional championship in eight years while posting a 25-8 record.
