    Korean Air plans to set up an urban air mobility and aviation safety centre to boost aerospace innovation in South Korea. The carrier, which has extensive aerospace experience through its Korean Air Aerospace - or KAL-ASD - unit, will invest W1.2 trillion ($844 million) in the location. The centre will be located in Bucheon, which lies to the west of the nation’s capital, Seoul, near Incheon.

    An Air India Airbus A320 crew attempted to take off from a taxiway at Goa’s Manohar airport, although conditions were clear, and the crew was not under pressure.     A team led by Korean Air has been named the preferred bidder to upgrade 36 Sikorsky UH-60 Black Hawk helicopters in service with South Korea’s military. The Defense Acquisition Program Administration programme is valued at W992 billion ($695 million) and will cover 36 helicopters. In a recent visit to Turkey, Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan signed a cooperation agreement on defence matters.     Embraer has appointed a veteran Chinese aerospace executive to head its China commercial operations. Effective 31 March, Patrick Peng became the managing director and senior vice president sales & marketing, commercial aviation for Embraer China, says the Brazilian airframer. Peng has held a number of China-based roles at Safran, Thales, and GE Aerospace.
