IntroductionAdolescence and young adulthood are exciting, sometimes tumultuous periods of both psychological and physical growth. It is a time when individuals are learning life skills, solidifying identity formation, and negotiating interpersonal relationships, all while undergoing rapid physical transformations. According to United States Census Bureau estimates, in 2021 there were 43,012,450 adolescents age 10 to 19 years in the US, 13% of the total US population.
