    Eighty years ago today, as World War II raged in Europe, U.S. Army pilot William Marks flew a glider behind enemy lines into German territory. He was ferrying seven enlisted men and supplies to a bold new war front known as Operation Market Garden. But that gentle name belied the hellish situation awaiting Marks and his fellow pilots. I am Gregory Marks, William’s son, and this is the story of what happened that day eight decades ago.
