Weedsport, N.Y. — Flames and smoke quickly engulfed a mobile home in Weedsport early Friday morning, hospitalizing two. Around 6:47 a.m., firefighters were called to 103 Briarwood Drive in the Shady Brooke mobile home park for a house fully engulfed in flames, according to dispatches from the Onondaga County 911 Center. Law enforcement at the home found one male and one female with severe burns, dispatches said.

Utica, N.Y. — A Utica man threatened his neighbor with a long gun and barricaded himself in his apartment for over 12 hours, police said. Around 6:30 p.m., Wednesday, Utica police went to 1013 West St. after a report that someone was menacing someone with a long gun, said Lt. Mike Curley, a spokesperson for the Utica Police Department. Police spoke to the victim who lives at the apartment complex who said he went to a man’s apartment to tell him to turn his music down.

Justin and Winona Schindler rushed over to try to help the elderly woman who was choking at Daniella’s Steakhouse in Geddes. The couple, who are paramedics for the Greater Baldwinsville Ambulance Corps, often work together in the ambulance.

Syracuse, N.Y. — A section of Interstate 690 West is closed in downtown Syracuse because of a large diesel fuel spill from a disabled tractor trailer. Around 7:38 a.m., all lanes were closed on I-690 West at Exit 11 (West Street) for the spill, according to a 511 NY alert. Firefighters and hazardous material crews are responding to the highway to help clean up the spill, according to the Onondaga County 911 Center.
