The celebrated performance artist Marina Abramović will issue her first NFT drop for three years when Marina Abramović Element (MAE), created by Abramović in partnership with the curated digital art marketplace TaEx, goes live on Ethereum blockchain in May. The project is made up of four NFT drops, designed to immerse people in Abramović’s distinctive practice through both interactive elements and new artworks.

New Year’s and the art world have champagne in common. Waking up not very early on Jan 1, 2024 I found the confetti had moved behind my eyes and the fireworks had relocated to my temples. There was still the lingering joy of the celebration; I had had a wonderful New Year’s Eve and a triumphant 2023. I laughed, which hurt, maybe due to the sheer absurdity of feeling this bad after such a festive drink.

The Gray Area Festival, a conference and exhibition focused on culture and technology held in San Francisco’s Mission District, celebrated its ninth iteration in October. It was organised around the theme “Plural Prototypes"—a topic close to the considerations of equity and inclusivity that drive the event's organisers.
