IntroductionHospitalization rates for acute decompensated heart failure (ADHF) are increasing in the United States. Between 2012 and 2017, there was a 26% increase in ADHF hospitalizations.1 Among adults hospitalized for ADHF, approximately 1 in 4 will be rehospitalized or die within 30 days after discharge.2 An inadequate diuretic response is an independent predictor of readmission in patients with ADHF.
