1. IntroductionModern agricultural practices have long been the cornerstone of global food production []. However, there is a growing demand for environmentally friendly and economically viable long-term food production systems. As such, organic agriculture can play an important role in sustainable crop production by offering ways to promote ecological balance, conserve natural resources, and improve the soil’s fertility while minimizing the use of synthetic chemicals.

1 INTRODUCTION The detrimental impacts of the potent greenhouse gas N2O are of great environmental importance, and these are directly influenced by the agricultural practices of N fertilization and irrigation. The specific significance of N2O emissions being their central role in exacerbating climate change, holding a warming potential 273 times more potent across a 100-year period than an equivalent mass of CO2 (Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change, 2021).
