The 2024-25 season has ended in heartbreak for the Calgary Flames. They’ll now be missing the playoffs for a third straight year and are yet again stuck in the “mushy middle”. With that being said, there were certainly some major positives to take away from this season. Since we covered what went wrong for the Flames this year, let’s now focus on some things that fell into their favour. Firstly, the biggest thing that went right for the Flames this season was Dustin Wolf.

Fans of the Calgary Flames were eager to watch the out-of-town scoreboard yesterday, as both the Minnesota Wild and St. Louis Blues were in action. The best-case scenario would’ve been that both these teams lose their respective games in regulation, resulting in the Flames having a huge opportunity to grab the second wild card spot in the West. However things didn’t end in Calgary’s favour as the Wild would go on to defeat the Vancouver Canucks in overtime 3-2, capping off the comeback.

It’s that time of the year for The Win Column’s NHL draft rankings and draft profiles! Using our very own consolidated rankings, we will be taking a look at the top 50 prospects for this year’s draft. The 2025 NHL draft will take place on June 27th and 28th at the Peacock Theatre in Los Angeles. The NHL is testing a decentralized draft this summer. Up next is the first European player on our list in Anton Frondell.

Once again, we’ll be looking at this week’s playoff odds for the Calgary Flames. This will be the last time we check in on odds, as the regular season is coming to an end in about nine days. As for the playoffs, it isn’t looking promising for the Flames. The team is coming off a devastating overtime loss versus the Anaheim Ducks two days ago, as that was a game they needed to win in regulation. They now have only four games left in the season, and three of their opponents are playoff teams.
