MEMPHIS, Tenn — Memphis Police have issued a city watch alert for a missing child they consider to be endangered. Cor'ea Taylor has been missing from the 3100 block of Beaumont since June 28, according to MPD. She has two braided ponytails and weighs about 103 pounds, they said. She stands at 4 feet and 11 inches, according to MPD. She was seen wearing a unicorn shirt with khaki pants and bedazzled Croc shoes, according to MPD.

MEMPHIS, Tenn — Memphis Police found a missing child they consider to be endangered, which prompted a City Watch Alert over the weekend. The girl had been missing since June 28, according to MPD. She was supposed to return home from summer school but instead decided to go to an unknown friend's home at an unknown location, according to MPD.

Highway 64 is down to one eastbound lane just west of 385 after authorities found a dead man who had been shot in the area. Deputies with the Shelby County Sheriff's Office (SCSO) said they responded to an armed disturbance call in the 12000 block of the highway towards 1 p.m. When deputies arrived, they found a vehicle in a wooded area next to a business that was closed, according to SCSO. In front of this business, they also found a man who was dead that had a gunshot wound.

It is located at the Hospitality Hub at 590 Washington Ave. An emergency cooling center is a temporary facility for those who need to get out of the hot weather. The cooling center has limited services does not replace the services provided by a shelter.

The victims were a 39-year-old-woman and a 44-year-old man, according to the Poinsett County Sheriff's Office. MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Two men that have not been caught pointed guns at a Kroger employee as they took food from the store, according to Memphis Police. Memphis Police Department (MPD) officers said they responded on June 27 around 8 p.m. to 799 Truse Parkway. Officers were told an employee of the Kroger there encountered the two men as they were trying to shoplift food items. The men discarded the items but then pulled out guns from their waistbands, according to MPD.

More than 101,000 people are expected to pass through the checkpoint at Memphis International Airport during July 4th weekend, according to the airport. Citing the Transportation Security Administration (TSA), more than 10,500 people passed through the checkpoint on Thursday, June 27 — the peak day during a 14-day travel period. Wednesday, July 3 and Sunday, July 8 are also expected to yield a large number of travelers as well.

'Women's Strike' taking place at Tom Lee Park on Monday

The fight for reproductive rights is making it's way to Tom Lee Park on Monday as a Women's March has been organized for Memphis on June 24, 2024. "Join the peaceful protest for women's rights!" reads an event page for the protest. "Show them we will not be silenced." Flyers for the event stress the importance of protesting "for equal rights, reproductive freedom and the fight to end gender-based violence." The event reportedly takes place at noon at the park on Riverside Drive Monday.
