After winning a pair of national championships during the indoor season, Minnesota State women’s track and field athlete Adeyah Brewster has her sights set on another title during the outdoor season. Brewster will be one of 14 MSU women who will compete in the NCAA Division II Women’s Outdoor Track and Field Championships this Friday-Sunday in Pueblo, Colo. The Mavericks will be represented in 16 individual events and enter the meet ranked No. 6 in the country in the team standings.

MANKATO — The stakes weren't as high as usual, but the Minnesota State men's hockey team is the Mason Cup champions. It wasn't a game MSU needed to win to advance to the national tournament, but the Mavericks definitely wanted to add to their hardware collection on Friday night. And they did so with a 4-2 home victory over St. Thomas in the CCHA championship game.

MANKATO — Evan Murr scored the game-winning goal for the Minnesota State men's hockey team, as the Mavericks beat St. Thomas 4-2 in the CCHA championship game Friday night at the Mayo Clinic Health System Event Center. Murr scored the game-winner at 10:13 of the third, and Josh Groll secured the win with an empty-netter in the final minute. The Tommies started the scoring at 6:56 of the first, but Luigi Benincasa tied the game with a goal at 10:40.

Zach Krajnik has picked a great time to get hot for the Minnesota State men’s hockey team. The senior forward scored just one goal during 34 regular-season games for the Mavericks, but he has been on a tear in the playoffs. Krajnik had eight career goals in nearly four seasons with the Mavericks heading into this postseason. But he has five goals in his last three games and has helped MSU reach the CCHA championship game.
