Several people were transported to the hospital June 1 following a multi-vehicle crash in downtown Gatlinburg, Tennessee. Five cars crashed into the 700 block of Parkway, a highway in downtown Gatlinburg, around 4:14 p.m. June 1, according to multiple local news outlets, including WBIR, WVLT and WATE. Six people were injured. Three people were flown to the University of Tennessee Medical Center by helicopter. Three others were transported to a hospital by ambulance, the outlets reported.

Warm, dry weather is forecasted to continue through mid-week. Then, rounds of showers and storms are expected to return by the end of the week. According to the National Weather Service in Wilmington, wildfire smoke from Canada will advect into the Midwest region on Monday, June 2. Dry conditions are expected with very little cloud coverage. Smoke will have a subtle impact on surface temperatures, with highs a couple of degrees below normal. However, temperatures will still climb into the mid-70s.
