1 INTRODUCTION Gastric cancer is the fifth most common cancer and the third leading cause of cancer death in the world. According to cancer statistics published by the World Health Organization in February 2021, there are 479,000 new cases of gastric cancer in China each year, accounting for 43.9% of the new cases of gastric cancer globally (International Agency for Research on Cancer, 2020).
