    MEDFORD, Ore. -- A 38-year-old man is in custody after Medford Police said he shot and critically injured a man Wednesday near the Bear Creek Greenway. Officers arrived at the scene on 8th Street after receiving multiple reports and found the victim with gunshot wounds. Medford Fire personnel and Mercy Flights medics provided life-saving aid before the victim was transported to a local hospital and later airlifted to Portland. He remains in critical condition.

    MEDFORD, Ore.--  Medford Police are actively investigating a shooting near the southside of Hawthorne Park. We are in the early stages of the investigation and locating the suspect. The names of the involved are not being released at this time. Traffic is impacted on 8th and E Main Street (Almond to Riverside, both directions) are currently closed, with the closure expected to be extended. Please avoid the area and use alternate routes.

    CAVE JUNCTION, Ore. -- Monday morning, the Illinois Valley Fire District let the community know about the death of two employees: Dale Sandberg and Gerry Bjornstad. Illinois Valley Fire chief John Holmes told NewsWatch 12 the two died from medical complications. Holmes said, "One was a photographer for a very long time with the district [Dale Sandberg] and the other person was a firefighter a long time ago again with the district [Gerry Bjornstad].
