AbstractA novel non-volatile photonic-electronic memory, 3D integrating an Al-doped HfO2 ferroelectric thin film onto a silicon photonic platform using fully compatible electronic and photonic fabrication processes, enables electrically/optically programmable, non-destructively readable, and multi-level storage functions.

Nature 632, 55–62 (2024)The advent of coherent lasers has been a cornerstone of modern optics, with the prevailing belief that greater coherence always confers an advantage. However, researchers from the University of Oxford, A*STAR in Singapore, Heidelberg University, the University of Münster, and Ghent University have developed an innovative approach that challenges this conventional wisdom. They introduced a partially coherent photonic convolutional processing system.

Metal Ion Attachment in Cavities of Metal Organic Polyhedra to Enhance Framework Robustness and Catalytic Performance Metal-organic polyhedra (MOPs) have attracted great attention in the past two decades, but a better robustness of polyhedron and functionalization in cage space are still challenging in this field. Attaching metal ions into the cage not only helps to support the pores, but also serves as functional sites.

Visible-light-induced tandem ring opening/1,6-conjugate addition of cyclobutanols with p-quinone methides under metal- and additive-free We report, for the first time, a visible-light-promoted tandem ring opening/1,6-conjugate addition of cyclobutanols with p-quinone methides. This transformation proceeded smoothly in the presence of organic photocatalyst [Mes-Acr-Me]+BF4-, affording a series of δ,δ-diaryl ketones in moderate to excellent yields.
