Off the back of a standout edition, Stagecoach organisers praised the transformation of the country music genre with IQ. Goldenvoice EVP Stacy Vee, who helps produce and book Stagecoach, hailed the second-annual sell-out of California’s “country Coachella”. The 85,000-capacity festival returned to Empire Polo Club in Indio, California from 25-27 April, following its sister festival’s two weekends.

Usher has wrapped up the European leg of his Past Present Futuretour after selling over 300,000 across 20 shows in London, Paris, Amsterdam and Berlin. It was his first tour on the continent in over a decade, with his 2015 UR Experience Tour being his most recent outing. During the Live Nation-backed 2025 run, Usher delivered ten sold-out shows at London’s O2 Arena (20,000), the most of any city visited across North American and European legs.

Festival lineups are coming in thick and fast as events in the US, Europe, and Australia deliver impressive programmes for 2025. Texas’s Austin City Limits revealed its stellar lineup yesterday, with headliners Sabrina Carpenter, Hozier, Doja Cat, Luke Combs, The Strokes, John Summit, and Doechii on tap. The nine-stage, two-weekend festival returns to Zilker Park from 3-5 and 10-13 October.

Festivals worldwide are reaping the rewards of diversifying their lineups as audience tastes evolve, organisers tell IQ. According to a joint report by IQ and music biz directory and data platform ROSTR, which analysed the lineups of 50 top European festivals, rock/indie acts accounted for just 30% of headliners in 2024, compared with 43% the previous year.

Chicago’s Michelada Fest, a Latin music festival in the US, has cancelled its 2025 edition due to a “rapidly changing political climate” across the nation. The two-day festival was set to return to Illinois’ Oakwood Beach from 19-20 July, but organisers cited “uncertainty surrounding artist visas” as part of their rationale for cancelling the upcoming edition. Danny Ocean, Anitta, Grupo Firme, and Netón Vega were on tap to headline.
