    An Edinburgh man claims he was just millimetres from being crushed by a huge tree which uprooted on a major road. Barry Will was travelling home after collecting a work phone at around 10am on Friday, January 24, ahead of a rare red weather warning bringing wind gusts of up to 80mph. As Barry stood at the crossing on Regent Road, Abbeyhill, a huge tree toppled over and nearly landed on top of him. He was forced to react quickly and move backwards to avoid being crushed.
