    DULUTH, Minn. (Northern News Now) - Some students from Duluth will make their way to the nation’s capital to make their mark at the National History Day Contest. On April 7, local students competed in Minnesota’s State History Day in the Twin Cities. Nearly 2,000 students competed in the competition. Of those, 59 were named winners and qualified to represent Minnesota on the national level, which included students from Duluth.

    DULUTH, Minn. (Northern News Now) - Northlanders can enter into the world of “Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory” in Duluth on Thursday, June 5. Hucklebeary, a shop in downtown Duluth, is hosting the candy-filled event at the Zeitgeist theatre. There will be a themed fizzy drink, a chocolate bar from Duluth Coffee Company, a chocolate fountain and even supplies to make a candy necklace. Afterward, the original 1971 film “Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory” will show in the theatre.

(Northern News Now) - For lovers of Halloween and circus events, a traveling show called Paranormal Cirque is taking the stage at the Miller Hill Mall parking lot in Duluth starting Friday, May 30 until Monday, June 2. It’s a show that showcases gothic décor while blending elements of the circus, cabaret and magic into the performances. One performer, Yury Belaus, said that it’s an immersive experience even before the show begins.

    Claiming the supreme dairy championship this year's Northumberland County Show was the Ayrshire, Morwick Peggy 126, from G.G. Baynes and Stuart Mullan, Hexham. Led by Richard Baynes, the EX93 classified third calver was shown giving 45 litres having last calved in January and has had a successful show career to date, winning its breed section at Ayr Show most recently.
