June 12, 2025 Commercial flights are paused at Boston’s Logan International Airport after a JetBlue flight “rolled into the grass area” off the runway, a Massport spokesperson told GBH News. “Upon landing, JetBlue flight 312 rolled into the grass area off runway 33-L. There are no injuries,” Samantha Decker, who works in Massport’s media relations department, wrote in a statement to GBH News.

May 14, 2025 About 25,000 households briefly lost power in Boston around 2:30 p.m. on Wednesday. By 3:20 p.m., Boston’s chief of emergency preparedness, Adrian Jordan, says the fix was made. “Transformers have been fixed and everything’s back online,” he told GBH News. “They were doing some repairs. They had a transformer issue.”Eversource’s outage map showed almost all households back online by 4 p.m. The utility company says it’s continuing to investigate the outage’s cause.

April 21, 2025 Marcel Hug has secured his eighth win in the men’s wheelchair division with an unofficial time of 1:21:34. In the women’s division, 33-year-old Susannah Scaroni is leading the pack. If you want to watch the marathon, leave your backpack at home. Be respectful, don’t throw things onto the course, and, for the love of God, don’t bring drones or weapons. If you’re wondering whether it can be considered a weapon, leave it at home. The Boston Athletic Association has put out its annual spectator guide with tips and advice about the course. Boston officials were working this weekend to get the word out about safety measures.

April 17, 2025 A yearslong project to protect Chelsea and Everett’s residents and businesses from flooding is at risk after a major federal grant was pulled earlier this month. The Federal Emergency Management Agency canceled its $50 million grant for the cities’ Island End River Coastal Flood Resilience Project. The plan includes an above-ground flood wall to block water from spilling over the riverbanks, as well as ecological restoration of the marshes in the Mystic River tributary.
