    The Guelph Police Service says three separate fires were reported in the city Monday, all the same area and all within an hour of each other. Officers were first dispatched to Victoria Road, Stone Road and Watson Parkway for a grass fire. Shortly after, they were called to two more fires in the area. “One of the fires was also in a grassy/wooded area, and the other was in a camp, with a tent and tree being burnt,” police said in a media release.

    The Waterloo Regional Police Service (WRPS) is investigating a report of a sexual assault in Cambridge. Police said on April 8 at approximately 3 p.m., a female youth was on the swings in Soper Park when an unknown male went up to her. “The male spoke to the female victim, began to push her on the swing, and sexually assaulted her,” police said in a media release. No injuries were reported.

    The Guelph Police Service has seized dozens of firearms and thousands of dollars worth of cocaine as part of an investigation. Police said two men were arrested in a parking lot in the city’s west end on April 8. During the arrest, officers found what they called ‘a large amount of cocaine’ worth approximately $23,100. They also seized a scale, 11 rounds of ammunition and $2,750 in cash.

    The Ontario Provincial Police Middlesex County Crime Unit is investigating the death of a woman found unresponsive at the scene of a single-vehicle crash early Saturday morning. Emergency crews responded around 5:30 a.m. to a collision on Jubilee Road near Dodem Way. A female victim was transported to hospital, where she was pronounced dead. Police said two men fled the scene and were later involved in a string of vehicle thefts and collisions across multiple counties.

    The Guelph Police Service says a home was broken into Sunday and ransacked while the owner was napping. Just after 6:30 p.m., police were called to a home near Edinburgh Road South and Preston Street. The caller told police she and her daughter had left their home at approximately 4 p.m. while her husband was napping. “When they got home about 6:15 p.m. they noted items strewn about throughout the house,” police said in a media release.
