University students often spend large portions of their day sitting down, around 10.7 hours a day on average according to one review. High levels of sedentary behaviour are associated with negative physical health outcomes, including greater risk of cardiovascular disease, type 2 diabetes and all-cause mortality.

A Bruce Springsteen superfan who penned his university dissertation on the rock legend managed to hand him the thesis during a gig. Nathan Collett, 23, made the 186-mile trip from his home near Liverpool to the singer's gig at Murrayfield in Edinburgh last May. Nathan's research paper was titled: 'Brilliant Disguises: An Analysis of Masculinity Through the Works and Life of Bruce Springsteen' and had been submitted a year earlier.

People living on quiet residential streets can often get frustrated when cars go flying down their road, disturbing the peace. Anger is often directed at so-called 'boy racers' for their fast - and loud - vehicles causing issues for locals. However, in one East Lothian town, a vehicle was spotted motoring down a pavement - but rather than provoke anger, it left onlookers in stitches. This was because it wasn't a car speeding down the walkway, it was a dodgem.
