WARNER Hotels have been criticised for introducing new charges on fun activities that were once free for guests. Archery, rifle shooting, crossbow and axe throwing now cost £8.50 per person per session in most Warner sites, while they are £9.50 for the brand’s more upmarket Reserve Hotels. The company said the move will mean more people will get the chance to do the activities and will also protect the cost of the overall holiday.

ROYAL Mail customers have blasted the company for charging a 30p fee to collect parcels from homes. The company said the previously free collection service had been a promotional period which has now ended after several years. In 2020, the cost was 72p per parcel, but the charge was dropped in March 2021 to encourage people to use the service.

TESCO has hiked the cost of its popular Finest Dine In meal deal, sparking a backlash from customers. The offer, consisting of a main, side, dessert and drink for two people, previously cost £12 with a Clubcard, but has now risen to £15. This week Tesco unveiled its new menu for the deal which has over twenty items to choose from, including nine new ones. New Spring-inspired recipes include a Pork Crackling Joint with Cider Jus, Manchego Stuffed Chicken and Lemon & Stem Ginger Posset.

PICKLE-MAKER Branston has discontinued its chutney range - sparking sadness from fans who loved the flavoursome sandwich fillers. The decision was confirmed by Branston, which said it was focussing on its Pickle range and no longer making chutneys, including its Mediterranean, Orchard Fruit and Caramelised Onion varieties. Both pickles and chutneys are made from preserved vegetables but chutneys tend to be cooked to a softer consistency, while pickles are crunchier.

COSTA Coffee has made a big change to its beloved cinnamon buns, leaving customers furious. The chain has, until recently, offered to heat them up if asked, but stopped after several people said they had burned their mouths on the icing. But disappointed fans have blasted health and safety rules for the change and begged for the practice to be reinstated.
