It will get off to a warm start, with a 17 C high expected on Good Friday, but daytime highs will soon drop just below the April average, with highs of 8 C and 9 C forecasted for Sunday and Monday. Rain and snow are expected from Saturday through to Monday as well. "There's a pretty decent chance of some flurries for the Calgary and Okotoks area, especially in higher elevations.

Okotoks will see some facility closures over the Easter long weekend. The Municipal Centre, Operations Centre, Fire Station No. 1, RCMP detachment, and the Eco Centre will all be closed on April 18 and 21. Recreation facilities will be open, but with adjusted hours. The Okotoks Recreation Centre will be open from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on April 18 and April 21, with regular hours of operation on April 20, while Natural High will be closed on April 18 and 20.

Diamond Valley Fire Rescue is again reminding motorists to slow down when passing emergency vehicles and roadside workers. While responding to a vehicle fire on Highway 7 on Tuesday, April 15, Diamond Valley firefighters noticed several vehicles speeding past without slowing down. As per provincial law, drivers must slow to 60 km/h when passing stopped vehicles with flashing lights, or move over to the far lane, if it's safe to do so.

The Canadian Premier League team is calling on submission for someone to fill the role of Sarge, the red horse who hypes up the home crowd at ATCO Field. Sarge can be seen at Cavalry games and across their social media accounts. The team's colours, crest, and theme allude to the Lord Strathcona's Horse armoured regiment, with Sarge bearing the same "Calgary Red" colour.
